One of the benefits of living in Nevada County is being located in such an historic location with so many options for senior portrait photo locations. Empire Mine is one of those incredible locations. It was built in the1800s as a gold mine during the 49er gold rush. It is a beautifully maintained grounds with a rock mansion, outdoor pools and fountains, rose garden and the original stone mansion the founding family lived in. You can visit the mine daily 10-4 or summer 10-5. This makes golden hour difficult in the summer but can be perfect in the fall.
