Whether it’s your first or your third.. or whatever number you are on, it’s always exciting to have a baby on the way, and your new addition deserves a baby shower! I am going to break down some of the best places for a baby shower in Grass Valley, CA, and some amazing vendors that might just make your baby’s special day even more special!
Locations for a baby shower
Pioneer Park, Nevada City, CA
Let’s face it! Grass Valley is gorgeous! From our mountains and lakes to rivers and valleys, we have no shortage of beautiful locations, and a lot of those incredible places have picnic tables for you to use for your baby shower! Pioneer Park in Nevada City (just a 2-mile drive from Grass Valley) has a lovely pine tree grove behind the ball field where you can use the picnic tables in lovely shade! There is a creek running past the tables and a playground just up the hill for the older kiddos. This is a great option if you are looking to stay close to town and want the shade on a hot summer day. Get there early because the tables are first come first serve!
North Star House, Grass Valley, CA
If you want to have a bigger party and are open to renting a venue The Northstar House in Grass Valley is to die for! This historical old mining home has been turned into an incredible event venue. It is often used for weddings and other special celebrations, possibly your baby shower!! The grounds are meticulously maintained, so whether you want an outdoor party or indoor you won’t be lacking in visual splendor! This is absolutely one of the best places for a baby shower in Grass Valley
Western Gateway Park
This park is located in Penn Valley, CA, and has a large creek for kids to play in, in the Summer and several large playground structures. The upper area has a covered picnic pavilion that can be reserved for a small fee. If you need an indoor space there is a cottage you can rent for special occasions too!
Country Clubs
Don’t forget your community country clubs! They usually have a clubhouse you can rent, and if you are a member of the community the cost is usually pretty minimal. Check out Lake Wildwood, Alta Sierra, or Lake of the Pines country clubs for more information

Cake! ok, I’m only going to give you one name for this because she is the best and you should get on her list… like now!! The Sweet Spot is amazing. Her work is unbelievable and tastes amazing. She does, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, cake smash, baby showers…. The list goes on. Just trust me on this one!
Places to register in Nevada City and Grass Valley
Two Little Birds
Located in quaint historical Nevada City, Two Little Birds carries boutique clothing and toys. They specialize in eco-friendly clothing, accessories, and gifts. You will get lost admiring everything in this store!! Not to mention (wink wink) this is the perfect place to find the perfect outfit or props for a children’s portrait session with me!!!
Moms and Minis
This store is the perfect place to register for expecting mothers. They carry maternity clothes (the cute kind) and matching mom and baby outfits! Super cute and plus its located in Grass Valley so no need to drive down the Hill to Sacramento for your baby shower registry needs!
